MEGAN ISENOR

CONNECTIONS

Megan Isenor is a 17 year old fiddle/vocalist from Shortt’s Lake NS, Canada. You will hear quite a few Alison Krauss tunes. She also performs a few with a little different style, a couple as blues and a few country numbers. I'm sure people will recognize the songs and think they'll like her interpretations. Megan has a very mature voice as you can hear from the demo that is included in the package (these tunes were recorded on her first solo CD I Don’t’ Know Why). Which by the way was recorded when she was 11.

Members of Megan’s band include Stephanie Isenor - vocals, rhythm guitar, Bruce Isenor - vocals, Banjo/dobro, Warren Beeler – vocals, Acoustic Bass, and Nathan Beeler – vocals, mandolin/guitar.

Megan started playing 8 years ago doing mostly a maritime fiddle style. Meg also began singing at the early age of 4 with her father’s band The Pioneers. She now has developed a very nice Bluegrass backing fiddle as well as a repertoire of Bluegrass style instrumentals. She likes to sing a wide variety of tunes from Alison Krauss to Cherryholmes as well as back to the roots of Bluegrass, The Carter Family. Megan has also incorporated a bit of Step dancing to a few of the more Keltic style fiddle tunes.

Stephanie has been singing and playing for close to three decades in the bluegrass and old-time genre. She is a founding member of The Pioneers. Stephanie has one of the steadiest rhythm guitar sounds on the circuit today. Her harmony and lead vocals are surpassed by none in the business. She is a great asset to the Connection sound.

Bruce Isenor has been fooling around with the banjo and the Dobro® for almost 30 years. Bruce has spent time with a few bands over the years but most recently with Dark Hollow and currently The Pioneers. He also does some fine harmony vocals in Connections as well as all the sound reinforcement for the band. Bruce has also produced a half dozen records, including Megan’s first project.

Warren Beeler (Megan’s cousin) also has a long career in the bluegrass trade. Warren has played with the likes of Close to Home, A New Blade of Grass and currently with his own family band Grassworks. Warren again has approximately 30 years of playing the Bass and flattop guitar. He adds a unique style to the band, whether it is the hard driving bluegrass sound of Orange Blossom Special or a ballad of Casey Chambers. You may also hear Warren sing the odd tune.

Nathan Beeler (Warren’s brother) although relatively new to the Bluegrass scene is what one may say is a truly accomplished musician. Currently the musical director of Charles P Allen High School in Bedford, N.S. he finds time to play a crisp and accurate mandolin. He also has been known to play a mean lead guitar. Nathan also played a stint with Dark Hollow as well as currently playing with Grassworks. Nathan contributes many things to the band including fine instrumentation and vocals.
